The events on April 16, 2007 at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA took us all by storm. Like you, I read the account of the 32 victims murdered by Seung-Hui Cho. Not only did 33 people have their lives tragically cut short, but how many dreams were ended prematurely? Many people go to the grave without fulfilling their dreams.

As a personal brand each of us has a mission, something specific that we are created for. Imagine watching the Masters without Tiger, talk TV without Oprah, or business without Bill Gates. What if they were never born, or what they were born to do was never accomplished? What if they went to the grave full of ideas and dreams instead of emptying themselves by fulfilling them?

When I first read the story, I didn’t just think about the people whose lives were lost, I thought about how many dreams, companies, leaders, products, and inventions were destroyed. My question to you is how many of you will allow your dream to die in you? Will you live your dream or only dream about how you wanted to live?

What is a self-made millionaire? I will use this term with a slightly different twist. The definition of self-made is having achieved success or recognition by one’s own effort. I (self) have helped to make at least 10 millionaires; I help to build their dreams. In my mind I ran through a typical day and thought about how I have helped to make others’ dreams come true. I went into Starbucks with my Nikes on carrying my Apple laptop, Googling topics for my blog and saving the files in Microsoft Word. In one afternoon I (self) helped make Howard Schultz (Starbucks), Phil Knight (Nike), Steve Jobs (Apple), Larry Page & Sergey Brin (Google), and Bill Gates (Microsoft) rich.

The strangest thing is that when I purchase their products, use their services, and help to build their personal wealth there is no financial benefit to me. I have been faithful and loyal in my support. How many millionaires have you made? How many millionaires are you wearing? How many millionaires do you know?

What does a self-made millionaire look like? How do you develop millionaires? You should know, you help to make millionaires everyday. Everyday we transfer wealth and help someone else fulfill their dreams. When I wrote The Brand YU Life it opened my eyes to the world of success, life, passion, and how wealth is created.
When are you going to start living your dreams?

What three things are you doing today to reach your goals and create your millions? When will you stop being the self that has made others millions and begin working on your own millions? In a nutshell this is branding 101. Self-made millionaires live their dreams, identify their passion, and fulfill their mission.
